Data Sources & Methodology
How we compile NPL scores and tables.
NPL Point records Nepal Premier League matches ball by ball through its own scoring desk and checks results against the official scorecards and announcements of the league and the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). This page explains where our data comes from, how the tables are calculated and how corrections work.
Where the data comes from
The Cricket Association of Nepal (https://cricketnepal.org.np/) remains the official source for results and playing conditions. NPL Point is independent and is not affiliated with the league organisers.
- Fixtures, venues and start times: the official NPL schedule announced by the league and CAN.
- Live scores: entered delivery by delivery by the NPL Point scoring desk while a match is played.
- Results and scorecards: checked against the official match scorecard after play.
- Squads and captains: the squads announced by the teams and the league.
How the points table is calculated
Teams earn points in every league match that counts for the table. The points for a win, a tie and a no result are shown under each season's table (2, 1 and 1 unless the season says otherwise). Matches marked as playoffs or exhibitions are not counted.
Teams level on points are separated by net run rate (NRR): runs scored per over faced, minus runs conceded per over bowled, across all counted matches. Overs are written as completed overs and legal balls, so 18.4 means 18 overs and 4 balls. The For and Against columns show the run and over totals behind each NRR.
How quickly pages update
Live scores refresh about every two seconds while a match is in progress. The points table, schedule and team pages are republished shortly after a result is recorded, and each shows when its data was last updated. All times are Nepal Time (NPT, UTC+5:45).
Corrections
If you find an error in a score, result or squad, tell us through the Contact page with the season, match and details. The scoring desk checks it against the official scorecard and corrects the record, and the corrected page shows its new update time.
Independence and advertising
NPL Point is an independent cricket information website. Advertising is clearly labelled, kept separate from scores and editorial text, and never affects how results or standings are recorded.
